Calmera - a good or a bad world? Arguements

Written by Jade Tan Do, Calmera.
5 years of Calmera.

Calmera is a peaceful world, optional pvp in other words.

Optional PVP
Downside:
Since Calmera is a harmless world without any PKers (Player/people killers), and because of that, the world is also full of botters and rude people who are not afraid of being rude since they can't die. If you have a great spawn, alone, and there is someone who wants to hunt there too, asking him to leave if you want to be alone wont do anything. No, he'll steal your monsters and not listen to you.

Upside:
In Calmera you can focus on hunting monsters, completing quests etc. without having to worry about being killed.

Community
Downside:
Since the majority of the people playing on Calmera are brasilians and mexicans finding someone to communicate with is somewhat hard. The server is also a "full" server, meaning that there are lots of players. So if you are new to the server your newbie spawns, such as rotworms and trolls, will probobly be taken by a lot of people trying to get levels.

Upside:
The Game-Chat is a great place to find friends. Since the server is a "full" server the game-chat is active most of the times. Getting an answer for a question via the "Help Channel" will go quick. Finding an active and friendly guild is easy, thanks to the active Game-Chat.

So to sum it all up
Calmera is a great world where you can meet new friends and have fun in an active guild or just talk to people in the game-chat.
You will have a hard time in the beginning because of all the botters and rude players (every optional-pvp worlds usually have these people) taking your spawns.

If you are easily frustrated this server ain't for you, but if you like to relax and go on a hunt without worrying, Calmera is the world for you.

TibiaCubix makes fansite cubix

Yeah, finally it will be true ...
After speculation about new and different cubix, TibiaCubix (supported Fansite) will launch new cubix based on those items provided to fansites for events and promotions. This revelation occurred at the beginning of cubix weekly event sponsored by the site by twitter (@tibiacubix).
Last week's event, "Cheering for win," the winner would win a Champion's Cup and could also choose the fansite that would be turned into Cubix.
The winner of the week was Sahsy (libera), who chose TibiaFriends. And as promised, TibiaFriends cubix will be released in July. And also, 2nd and 3rd places won a cup and choosen one fansite. Archer Bean (Neptera) chooses TibiaBR, and Darket (Magera) chooses TibiaMX, and will be released in August and October respectively.

Freedom of what???

It’s summer update time! Cipsoft has started announcing this year’s summer update features and one special change has caused a big controversy: The ability to report illegal statements on private and several public channels. Players from every server and every age felt outraged and expressed their concerns on the discussion forums. Many stated such rule would go against the idea of “freedom of speech” but the majority of people were more concerned with the fact that their conversations wouldn’t be so private anymore. So the main question is: how far can rule enforcement go?

CM Mirade addressed the issued on forums and I quote:

“Some of you used the term "freedom of speech" quite often but seem to forget that freedom of speech does not include harassment of others, intimidation or vicious abuse. Also, it does not mean freedom from any consequence for what you say. As we explained in the latest news, it is not our intention to spy on your private conversations or banish our customers for trifles: "Based on a restrained rule enforcement only those should be punished who severely violate the rules. Rest assured that it is not our aim to make conversations in Tibia more restricted in general." We want to give players who really feel disturbed by rule violating statements a possibility to directly contact us and ask for help."
– she said.

Seeing that CM Mirade’s previous post didn’t seem to be enough, the community managers felt the need to explain themselves on this official statement, mainly focusing on the advantages of such extreme change and asking people to give it a try. Fair enough CMs! With this year’s summer update just around the corner looks like we have no choice other than abiding to the new rule and hoping for the best outcome possible. A private test server has been started but there is still no date set for the update release.

Bring the roleplay back!

Once upon a time there was a guild created on Libera called Devotion. There were tons of roleplayers hunting and lookin for new quests, most of the tops on the server were in that guild.
About one year ago when people from other servers came to Libera, they brought the chaos with them. People from Fortera, Danera and some other server, came to Libera and fought the war with the leading team, they won the war and started to power abuse every single roleplayer, asking for their boots of haste and armors, sometimes they even asked for the entire set (armor, legs, helmet, weapon, shield and boots).
Nowadays, we can barely find the roleplay on Libera, whoever wanted to play in peace.. left the server. Most of the power abusers left the world aswell or stopped playing because there is no one left to power abuse.
Libera has become a ghost server, you can take a good spawn anytime but you will end up losing your boots or even worse, you will end up dying.

People joined and left the leading guild named Ruff Sqwad, some of them got hunted and some left because they were bored to fight them and end up losing the war. Right now the mexican team called Sevens are fighting Ruff Sqwad, however, they are afraid to accept the war system and they are just sneaking during the night time when Ruff's leaders are offline.

Throughout the past 2 years on Libera, Ruff Sqwad has been leading the server. If you want to help the mexican team who are trying to overtake the power abusers in Libera, come to Libera!
